We really like the Giants in this position. They have a winning mojo about them and they are making the most of it.

In yesterday’s contest, the Giants were utterly outmatched on the mound, still, they limited Arizona to 1 run meanwhile managing to peel 5 runs from the Diamondbacks.

So if that’s what went on yesterday, then it should be all the more today.

  • Diamondbacks are 3.7 RPG vs RH Starters.
  • Giants are 4.5 RPG vs RH Starters.
  • Diamondbacks are 2.6 RPG last 7 games.
  • Giants are 6.0 RPG last 7 games.
  • Collmenter is 5.87 ERA on the road.
  • Vogelsong is 2.97 ERA at home.
  • Collmenter is 0.83 ERA last 3 games.
  • Vogelsong is 6.75 ERA last 3 games.

But regardless of all these stats, Arizona still needs to prove that they CAN win regardless of whatever statistical factors may or my not play in their favour. Arizona is not showing us any of that lately.

With the Giants 3 Wins off of 1st place in their division, we don’t expect them to sit back on this one. We suspect them to sweep this series and move on to face the Dodgers who are first in their division.

Even without Morse and Belt, the Giants are still managing to keep their hitting online. This was not the case with Arizona, back in early August, who lost Goldschmidt, causing all of their scoring to implode.

We don’t really need atsstats confirmation on this case, but let’s look at it anyway:
