Des Boodram

Cash lineups are becoming increasingly more and more difficult to nail week in and week out, and unless you are an expert in the daily game I don’t recommend playing every day.  Pick your spots, pick your slate size and choose your players wisely, based on volume and matchup.  It’s different than football, where you play pretty much on Sundays and work all week on building your lineup.  In the NBA you don’t have that luxury and a bunch of you will short change your research only to be eaten alive by the sharks who swim in this space every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every month.   I’m going to give you predominately cash game recommendations vs tournament plays and I’ll do it for Wednesday and Saturday slates even though 5-6 games slates have traditionally been my personal sweet spot in the past.  Last time out we killed it with players like Dragic, and Beal, why Myles Turner laid the egg of the week failing to hit double digits.   This week we move forward hoping to improve on an above average start.

PG – Ish Smith $6300

This one is a no brainer as Smith has been in three of his last four games and four of his last six.  I like that Reggie Jackson is out, and Smith will get the start.  He gets a home matchup against the Brooklyn Nets who will be on the back end of a back-to-back.  Smith at home against a tired team while getting the start at a decent price is a lot of boxes to check.  Don’t be mad if he’s a little chalky though.

SG – James Harden $11200

I like Harden anytime, anywhere in pretty much any lineup.  Yes he is matchup proof, especially with Chris Paul out.  I do love the Heat line up this year, and I think they are extra sticky on defense, but Harden who had 98.5 fantasy points five games ago has had at least fifty points in five of six games.  He’s a budget killer, but he’s worth it.

SF – Josh Jackson $5900

So you’re telling me I only need 30 fantasy points from Josh Jackson to hit value when he’s scored at least 29.6 fantasy points in five of the last six.  The value is there with upside and I like the matchup against a stifling Spurs defense that hasn’t been that stifling at all.  He’s the 4th overall pick and Devin Booker is out, the Suns having nothing to lose by rolling him out there.  I’ve seen enough to warrant the roster spot

PF – Domantas Sabonis – $5100

Listen I’ve had some great fortune with players in this price range, so I’m going roll a couple out there per line up.  This Wednesday I am convinced Sabonis who is a 27 minute double digit staple will hit value against a depleted Pelicans team defensively.

C – Andre Drummond $11000

Drummond has been a thing of beauty to watch this season.  I thought that Blake Griffin would kill him, but they are both killing it and the Piston are crushing everyone into oblivion.  This team was bad before Griffin got there, and their one bright spot … Drummond has become even brighter.

Good Luck Gamers.
