Des Boodram

Don’t look now, but we are on a pretty good basketball roll, with four of five of my last recommendations hitting value in a big way.  The burden is still on you to round out your lineup, but last week, I did the heavy lifting.  My pick em’ games went 3-0 against the spread to bring my record to 8-4-1 and we slayed the All-Star weekend as well, picking the winner, the over/under AND nailing the 3-point winner.

Enough about me, let’s talk about the Daily game in the NBA, as we hit the first major slate after the All-Star break.  The theme for me, this week, is to not bank too much on my top dollar studs.  They will provide the perfect combination of rustiness and fatigue, as All-Star weekend seldom provides the participants with enough rest.   I’m looking for the snubs, and the high-energy guys that love to ball, and miss the game during the break.  Yes they are out there.

PG – Kemba Walker vs Brooklyn $9100

Walker has some amazing home/away splits and will play his next game at home He’s running this offense and has put up some monster games of late.  I love the matchup and I know he made the All-Star game, but the matchup is too good here.  Deploy with confidence.

SG – Lou Williams @ Golden State $7000

Not sure why Williams is so cheap, but I’m rolling with the 58.9 fantasy points Williams scored against the Warriors the last time out.  Yes he was at home, but Williams is the focal point of this offense.  It’s not like the Dubs who can have one of four players go off on any given night.  In Los Angeles the only Clipper going off is Williams… he only needs 35 fantasy points to hit value… only a crazy person would ignore this upside in cash.

SF – DeMarre Carroll @ Charlotte $6100

Carrol has averaged 35 minutes in his last three games and over 30 minutes in his last 10 games, and is priced way too low given this matchup.  He should be able to have his way in the paint, and on the boards, and has a legit shot at a double-double in this one if he pulls the same volume.  I like everything about Carroll in this one, especially his price tag.  BONUS PICK – Mario Hezonja vs NY $6000

PF – Marvin Williams vs Brooklyn $4200

This is not the sexiest of picks but I like William’s price tag, and I like how he’s trending pulling over 30 minutes in his last game, and crushing value in the process.  I love his chance to hit value again in this one as he’s averaged over 20 fantasy points per game in his last four.

PF – Ben Simmons @ Chicago – $9000

I’m spending big at the PF position on Thursday with All-Star Snub and consensus rookie of the year Ben Simmons looking to go off.  I believe it’s going to happen as te 76ers look to devour a dysfunctional Bulls team that is imploding right now only is putting Kris Dunn on a minutes limit.  I love Simmons and his 51 fantasy point average in his last two games.
