I’m loving the game right now… as it’s been good to me the last couple of weeks. I’ve put some bad cash rosters out there, but the players I’m writing about are performing well and all though you still have to make some of the decisions you’ll get some good framework.
There are several factors that can contribute to bad lineup, and really only takes one player. Know that you are going up against pros and experts and your lineup scoring less than 300 points is not going to get you a solid return on your investment. If a player is a last minute scratch that is a lineup failure. Your lineup is over before it even begins.
Players getting in foul trouble and sitting for an entire quarter is a killer and blowouts hurt everyone who rosters fringe players in those games. Fringe players ride the bench in blowouts. Single digit output is a line up killer, so choose wisely.
Here are my Saturday plays.
PG – Damon Lillard – $9,700: I told you that I love Lillard, and that I’m sticking with him as long as he’s under 10K. He’s got a tasty matchup too, against OKC, and I can see him going off in this one again. 50 fantasy points is realistic here, which would be a good start.
SG – Donovan Mitchell – $7,800: I’ve yet to recommend Mitchell this season, so this is my first time and I feel great. I’ve loved him all year and I hope he win ROY, though I’m certain Ben Simmons is the apple of everyone’s eye. Mitchell has great games every other game where he crushes value, but then he’s just below average for the rest of the games. He’s due for a big game AND he checks all the boxes with Sacramento being a good whipping post. I love that the rookie gets 36 minutes. Love the confidence his coaches have in him and he’s been rewarding them likewise.
SF – Kyle Anderson $5,800: I love Anderson in this spot. He’s getting the minutes, he may get more minutes with the LeMarcus Aldridge injury and he’s got a great matchup at home against Los Angeles Lakers. I’m not sure why his last showing against the Lakers was so poor, but he got the minutes and the Lakers aren’t exactly defensive stalwarts. I’m expecting a big game here.
PF – Paul Millsap $5,700: Power Forward stinks tonight, so I’m going to try to eek out some value here. The Nuggets play at Cleveland, but the Cavs attention should be on Nikola Jokic. This should give Millsap some space in the paint, and I’m hoping he lights it up.
C – Greg Monroe – $3,700: This is a border line throw away which I seldom do. I like the idea of spending really big at the guard position tonight and going value with my bigs. It may blow up in my face, but I’m playing light. I like Monroe, because he does a lot with limited minutes. If he can get me 23 minutes and 17 fpg I’ll take it. Not sure how Boston will work their lineup at Houston tonight, but one things certain – if Al Horford get’s locked down, Monroe will step up.
