Weekly or monthly – however you want to dice it up.  Fantasy Baseball has been great to me… both in season long AND in the daily game.  This has been by far my most successful season in fantasy baseball ever.  We are in the black in a major way, so I’m not going to dismiss the final month, as much as I want to…. After all football is king this time of year.  Though I will play, I will not be writing any more pieces after my “WEEKLY DOSE” articles for both pitching and offense until 2019.  So my recommended plays will include not only this week, but also plays I expect to be hot for the next month or remainder of the season.

Zack Wheeler – New York Mets

He’s been on fire for the last couple of months and especially hot in the lost month.  He finished August with 43 Ks in 40 innins and 4 wins to go with a 1.13 ERA and 0.88 WHIP.  This is an outstanding stat line as Wheeler pitches on one of the best staffs in the league behind one of the worst offenses in the league.  He’s playing for a contract, and if he can finish up September the way he’s blasted the last two months, he will score a monster pay day.  Keep rolling with Wheeler who is owned in 49% of leagues only.  Come on people.

Tyler Glasnow – Tampa Bay Rays

Glasnow actually has a better K rate and WHIP than Wheeler, but has been struggling getting wins, even though Tampa Bay has gone a major run in the last month.  If the wins come in September, Glasnow will be a top 10 pitcher.  Yes top 10 in all other stats hold firm.

Blake Snell – Tampa Bay Rays

For the record with a better K-rate, lower ERA and WHIP, plus 5 wins, Snell has been much better both other pitchers listed above. He is CY Young worthy, so don’t hesitate paying top dollar for him when he starts.

Wei-Yin Chen – Miami Marlins

I can’t ignore a K/9 rate that is outstanding, a 1.44 ERA and 0.80 WHIP even he does play for the Marlins.  Wins are not guaranteed, but he as been getting those too.  The Marlins schedule is decent down the stretch, so if you are looking for quality innings Chen you your guy.   Ignore the disaster that is the franchise he plays for and give him a whirl, before someone else does.

Lucas Giolito – Chicago White Sox

I know many owners have given up on this kid, after all he was terrible, and played on a terrible team behind a gross offense.  Lately however, Giolito and the White Sox have been on a bit of a roll, and it’s reflected in his stats down the stretch.  I’m a K rate guy, and Giolito’s k/9 rate has been great.  All other stats including ERA and WHIP including Wins have been great as well, and I expect him to be able to build on them this month as the White Sox continue to swing freely.  His season stats are gross, so you have to ignore those, and just look at last several weeks and into the future.
Good Luck !!!!!
