It’s time for my some super sneaky ninja like tournament plays at each position, but here’s my GPP breakdown, just in case you are new to the game.  Cash games rosters are full of players with high floors and high ceilings, who will get a lot of volume and have great matchups.  These rosters carry little to no risk and are primarily entered into 50/50 and multiplier contests.  GPPs are guaranteed prize pools where each contest has a set number of participants but only a small fraction of those lineups will finish in the cash — sometimes less than 10% vs 50% payouts in 50/50s and 40% in double-ups.

These lineups are filled with high-end studs that absolutely have to go off, as well as low-end boom or bust players that may or may not go off.  Every week there are studs that go off and studs that lay eggs, and every week there are low-priced players that go off and perform like studs.  Taylor Gabriel for the Bears was a prime Week 4 example of this as he went for 2 TDs while being the primary benefactor of Mitch Trubisky’s big day. Trubisky was another ninja pick from week 4 that fits into this category.

Vance McDonald was the week 3 ninja, and at the end of the day it’s picks like these that help propel you up the standings and into the cash if your studs also hit.  Here are my super sneaky ninja picks for week 5.

C.J. Beathard $6300 vs Arizona – at home with clear ability against a mediocre defense – 20 fantasy points makes him a major steal.

Marcus Mariota $6800 at Buffalo – if he can score 30 fantasy points against Philadelphia he can do it against Buffalo.  This Titans team is very sneaky and Mariota runs

Wide Receiver

Jordy Nelson $5600 at LA Chargers – he’s a dream GPP play at this price, because he can go off in any game – the skill set is still there, and his price tag should be higher

Martavis Bryant $5200 at LA Chargers – he’s a HR hitter, that really only needs a TD with 50 yards to get you value as a throw away.  It’s only a matter of time before he goes off.  A shootout against the Chargers carries higher odds.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling $4800 at Detroit – with Randall Cobb ruled out and Geronimo Allison banged up – Valdes-Scantling who’s been getting first team reps could be a sneaky good pick here.

Running Back

Dion Lewis $5700 at Buffalo – I love Lewis in this spot – I expect at least 20 touches in this one including a lot in the receiving game.

Buck Allen $5400 at Cleveland – The Ravens are going to need to take the ball to the ground in this one because the Browns corners are sharp.  A heavy dose of both Collins and Allen in this game plus potential goal-line carries and 5-6 targets is great value at this price point.

Tight End

C.J. Uzomah $4700 vs Miami – with John Ross injured and Tyler Eifert out for the season Airborne Andy Dalton is going to need more targets.  Uzomah fits the bill.

Vance McDonald $4600 vs Atlanta – I want every part of this game I can handle.  My GPPs will be filled with multiple players from each team – and McDonald is the cheapest of them all.

Tyler Kroft $4500 vs Miami – See comments on Uzomah above.  Kroft will get red-zones targets this week.  Mark it down.

San Francisco 49ers $3800 vs Arizona – they get the 31st ranked offense at home…. This has trap written all over it – but if they post a number no one should be surprised.
Good luck gamers.
