WORLD SERIES OF HANDICAPPING WEEK 6 CONSENSUS PICKS

By Des Boodam

I think this week is going to be buck wild crazy.  I’m thinking a bunch of upsets, making almost all of them super scary to play with supreme confidence.  I’m feeling a big week for over/under games as injuries mount up and games become tighter.  There are a couple of big high point total games that I’ll target, but the feel this week for me, is that we are not going see a bunch a of blowouts making game selection more stressful.  Let’s break down some consensus picks, and look at both sides of the coin.

Kansas City Chiefs +3.5 at New England Patriots

This one seems like a no brainer.  The Chiefs appear to be a better team and unstoppable on offense.  The Patriots appear unable to stop anyone, and we’ve seen the Chiefs perform on Prime Time at Foxboro before.  There are some major variables we must consider, before we put all our chips on this game.  Pat Mahomes is still a rookie, who hasn’t played in Foxboro before.  The Patriots are going to be great offensively in this one.  Tom Brady has a full bevy of offensive weapons AND the Chiefs have one of the worst secondary groups in the NFL.  Can the Chiefs get into a shoot out with the Pats and keep it together mentally mid-way through the fourth quarter???  I have my doubts and time will tell.  I have no clue who’s going to win this game, and I’ll seldom go against Brady and Belichick with extra time to prepare.

Pittsburgh Steelers +2.5 at Cincinnati Bengals
I’m with the field again on this one, and believe the Steelers will win out right, but feel free to give me the points.  The Steelers are like MacBeth, in that no matter what they have going on… the Bengals can’t be them.  It’s crazy but it’s true, and the Bengals are fools gold.

Tennessee Titans +3 vs Baltimore Ravens

This seems about right for a home dog, against a team with no running game.  Have you seen Joe Flacco’s weapons on offense though?  Pass catchers are great and the running game is serviceable.  The Titans are wildly unpredictable as they have beat the two best teams the have played, and lost the three easiest games they had.  I have no idea what to expect from the Titans, but the Ravens are quite the opposite.  They’ve won the games they should’ve and lost a couple of close ones.   The experts are playing this game, but so are all of you.  I’m taking the under as well.

CAROLINA +1 at Washington Redskins

Another game I’m not touching but I’m confused as to why the Redskins who lead their division, which is potentially the toughest division in NFL get no love.  Alex Smith can figure out this defense, and the Redskins have an underrated defense.  The Panthers have the ability to go off and drop 40 points on anyone at any time, hence the reason I’m avoiding this game.

Good Luck Gamers.
