Week 11 Recap – Western Sweep
The West vs. East gap widened in Week 11 as the West went 4–0 straight up against their Eastern rivals. Bettors who’ve been backing the West in cross-division play cashed tickets again. Here’s the breakdown:
- Saskatchewan 29, Hamilton 9
The Roughriders (-3.5) rolled the Ticats in Regina. Saskatchewan’s defense held Hamilton to single digits, proving why they’re the class of the CFL. - British Columbia 36, Montreal 18
The Lions (-2.5) protected home turf with ease, doubling up the Alouettes. BC’s balance on offense and defense pushed them back to .500 and showed flashes of their top-tier ceiling. - Edmonton 28, Toronto 20
The Elks (-2.5) capitalized on Argos miscues. Toronto’s freefall continues at 2–8, while Edmonton looks like a scrappy dog with signs of life. - Winnipeg 30, Ottawa 27
The Bombers (-3.5) survived a feisty Ottawa squad. The Redblacks got the ATS cover, but once again couldn’t close out late. Winnipeg is winning — but not without sweat.
Bottom line: The West flexed, the East folded. Bettors should keep this imbalance in mind as we head into the stretch run.
Raymond Report SOS Power Ratings – Week 12
Here are the updated Raymond Report Strength of Schedule (SOS) Power Ratings heading into Week 12:
1. Saskatchewan Roughriders (8-1, PR 0.66)
The Riders are the CFL’s top dog. Their last three games (3-0, PR 0.72) show they’re getting even stronger. Elite balance, a punishing defense, and a system that travels.
2. Calgary Stampeders (6-3, PR 0.59)
Calgary remains steady and efficient. Their SOS isn’t as tough as others, but their 6-3 record and balanced metrics keep them firmly in the Top 3.
3. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (6-4, PR 0.56)
The Ticats are still the East’s best hope, but their PR (0.56) and Week 11 flop show they’re a step behind the West elites. Strong at home, shaky on the road.
4. British Columbia Lions (5-5, PR 0.52)
Back to .500 and trending up. Their PR jumped (0.56 last 3 games) thanks to tougher SOS and a convincing win over Montreal. Could be a sleeper down the stretch.
5. Montreal Alouettes (5-5, PR 0.50)
A rollercoaster team. Montreal is competitive but not consistent. Their PR is stuck at 0.49–0.50, right in the middle tier.
6. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (5-4, PR 0.50)
Yes, Winnipeg is above .500, but their PR is sliding (0.43 last 7 games). They’re not the dominant force they used to be, even if the name still carries betting weight.
7. Edmonton Elks (3-6, PR 0.42)
Trending in the right direction. The Elks’ recent PR (0.50 last 3 games) is far better than their season-long numbers. Not a contender, but no longer a pushover.
8. Ottawa Redblacks (3-7, PR 0.42)
Another week, another close-but-not-enough showing. Ottawa has covered spreads but can’t finish. Their PR (0.41 last 7 games) reflects that lack of a winning edge.
9. Toronto Argonauts (2-8, PR 0.37)
The wheels are off. Toronto’s PR (0.33 last 3 games) is the lowest in the league, and they’ve dropped three straight. Fade until proven otherwise.
Betting Takeaways
- West > East: Last week proved it. In cross-division matchups, the smart money stays with the West.
- Saskatchewan: The only “A” grade team in the CFL right now — worth premium chalk.
- Hamilton & Calgary: Both reliable, but vulnerable against top Western opponents.
- BC: Buy-low team with value as their PR climbs.
- Ottawa & Toronto: Still fade material. Ottawa has fight, Toronto does not.
