CFL Week 17 Power Ratings – Raymond Report

Storyline Heading Into Week 17

The Raymond Report Power Ratings show a CFL that’s tightening down the stretch. Hamilton is red hot with three straight wins, Saskatchewan remains steady at the top, while Calgary is sliding at the wrong time. Montreal has rebounded, Toronto’s showing fight, and Winnipeg and BC are locked in the .500 grind. Ottawa, as always, is just trying to spoil.

CFL Week 17 Power Ratings

1. Saskatchewan Roughriders (10-3, PR 0.64)

Still the top team in the league, but not running away with it. A season PR of 0.64 and 0.57 over the last 7 keeps them strong, though their last 3-game PR dipped to 0.56. They’re the Grey Cup favorite but not invincible.

2. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (9-5, PR 0.56)

🔥 The hottest team in the CFL. Winners of 3 straight with a massive PR spike (0.72 over last 3). The East runs through Hamilton if this momentum holds.

3. British Columbia Lions (7-7, PR 0.50)

The Lions are steady at .500. Their short-term PR (0.50 over last 3, 0.51 over last 7) shows they’re holding ground. Not flashy, but reliable in the right spots.

4. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (7-7, PR 0.51)

The Bombers are in the same boat as BC: .500 record, steady PR (0.51 season, 0.50 last 3). They’re tough at home but lack consistency.

5. Montreal Alouettes (7-7, PR 0.50)

Back from the dead. Montreal has won 2 of their last 3 and posted a huge 0.72 PR in that span. After weeks of fading, they’re suddenly alive again.

6. Calgary Stampeders (8-5, PR 0.55)

A rough patch. Calgary has dropped 2 of their last 3 and seen their PR fall to 0.39 short-term. They’re still contenders but slipping in form when it matters.

7. Edmonton Elks (5-9, PR 0.43)

Edmonton’s record is ugly, but they’re better than it looks. Their 7-game PR sits at 0.50, right on par with Winnipeg and Montreal. Spoiler team with sharp ATS potential.

8. Toronto Argonauts (5-9, PR 0.43)

The Argos remain near the bottom overall but have shown signs of life. A 2–1 stretch with a strong 0.67 PR shows they’re fighting, even if too little too late.

9. Ottawa Redblacks (4-10, PR 0.40)

Ottawa is Ottawa. Season PR of 0.40, bottom of the league, but scrappy enough to ruin a bettor’s ticket. Only playable in spoiler underdog spots.

Betting Takeaways

  • Saskatchewan – Still the benchmark, but not bulletproof.
  • Hamilton & Montreal – 🚀 Both heating up at the right time in the East.
  • Calgary – Cold stretch makes them fade-worthy against top West opponents.
  • BC & Winnipeg – True .500 clubs, value depends on line.
  • Toronto – Showing late-season fight.
  • Ottawa – Same script: spoiler only.
