MLB Odds: 2019 MLB All-Star Game

With the unofficial first half of the regular season in the books, Major League Baseball is taking a well-deserved break for the 2019 All-Star Game. This year’s Midsummer Classic is being held Tuesday night at Progressive Field in Cleveland, with FOX providing the coverage at 7:30 PM ET. The American League team is favored slightly at –114, with a total of 8.5 runs on the MLB odds board.

The starters for Tuesday’s All-Star Game have yet to be officially announced at press time, although we know it won’t be Chris Sale for the American League – he wasn’t selected this time around after starting the last three games in a row. Reports at press time have National League manager Dave Roberts going with one of his own starters from the Los Angeles Dodgers, Hyun-Jin Ryu (1.73 ERA). No one pitcher is expected to throw more than two innings in this contest.

The All-Star Game was a reliably low-scoring affair for most of the new millennium – until the recent emphasis on power hitting and changes in the manufacture of the balls themselves. Last year’s game was an 8-6 victory (Over 7) for the AL in 10 innings, their sixth straight win.
