Boston Celtics (206) vs. Denver Nuggets (4.5) Preview & Prediction (11/22/2019)

The Boston Celtics will be on the road Friday taking the court against the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Boston will be looking for their second win in three games following a 107-104 loss in overtime against the Clippers in Los Angeles Tuesday. The Nuggets will be looking for a fourth win in a row following a 105-95 win at home against the Houston Rockets their last time on the court.

The Boston Celtics are now 11-3 on the season following a 107-104 overtime loss in Los Angeles Angeles against the Clippers. Jayson Tatum was able to connect on 14 of 24 from the field to lead the Celtics with 30 points. Marcus Smart was able to pass the ball for a team-high eight assists while Daniel Theis pulled down 14 rebounds. Boston had four different players with at least 13 points in the game.

The Celtics have been good for an average of 112.0 points per game on the offensive end of the court while hitting 44.3 percent from the field. They have been able to pass the ball for an average of 24.6 assists per night while grabbing 47.1 rebounds. Defensively, they allow an average of 104.4 points per game to their opponents. Boston has been taking the ball away for 8.6 steals every time they are on the court to go along with 5.7 blocks. They will be looking to avoid back-to-back losses.

The Denver Nuggets are now 10-3 on the season following a 105-95 win at home against the Houston Rockets. Nikola Jokic was able to knock down 12 of 19 from the field to lead the Nuggets with 27 points. Jamal Murray was able to pass the ball for a team-high nine assists while Jokic pulled down 12 rebounds. Denver had five players with a double-digit scoring night.

The Nuggets have been able to put the ball in the net for an average of 106.8 points per game this season while shooting 44.2 from the field. Denver has passed the ball for an average of 26.0 assists per night with 46.5 rebounds. On the defensive end of the floor, Denver gives up 102.3 points per night. The Nuggets average 8.1 steals per game to go along with 5.2 blocks. They will be looking for a fourth consecutive win.

The Nuggets will take the court as four and a half point favorites with the total sitting at 206. Both teams are coming off of huge games. I’m liking the Celtics plus the points in this one. Yes, the Nuggets are a great defensive team but if you look at the numbers, Boston only gives up two points more per game than Denver while scoring around six more points. I think the Celtics keep things within four and a half points, if they don’t end up in the winners column, themselves.
