The Denver Nuggets will be on the road Sunday taking the court against the Nets at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Denver will be looking for their second win in three games following a 108-95 loss against the Celtics in Boston on Friday. The Nets will be looking for a third consecutive win after beating the Hornets 111-104 in Charlotte their last time on the court.
The Denver Nuggets are now 14-6 following a 108-95 loss in Boston against the Celtics. Nikola Jokic was able to connect on 13 of 21 from the field to lead the Nuggets with 30 points. Both Gary Harris and Jokic passed the ball for four assists while Jokic pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds. Denver had just two players finish the game with a double-digit scoring night.
The Nuggets have been good for an average of 106.7 points per game on the offensive end of the court while hitting 44.9 percent from the field. They have been able to pass the ball for an average of 26.1 assists per night while grabbing 46.7 rebounds. Defensively, they allow an average of 101.8 points per game to their opponents. Denver has been taking the ball away for 7.9 steals every time they are on the court to go along with 5.0 blocks. They will be looking to avoid back-to-back losses.
The Brooklyn Nets are now 12-10 on the season following a 111-104 win in Charlotte against the Hornets. Joe Harris knocked down 8 of 13 from the field to lead the Nets with 22 points. Spencer Dinwiddie passed the ball for a team-high 12 assists while Jarrett Allen pulled down 10 rebounds. Brooklyn had six different players finish the game with at least 13 points.
The Nets have been able to put the ball in the net for an average of 113.0 points per game this season while shooting 45.3 from the field. Brooklyn has passed the ball for an average of 24.4 assists per night with 47.2 rebounds. On the defensive end of the floor, Brooklyn gives up 113.4 points per night. The Nets average 7.1 steals per game to go along with 5.2 blocks. They will be looking for a third consecutive win.
The Nuggets will take the court as three and a half point favorites with the total sitting at 209 on the game. I’m liking Denver to cover this spread on the road. They are a much tougher team on the defensive side of the court. The Nets have struggled this season against teams that play solid defense and I think it happens again on Sunday. My money is on the Nuggets minus three and a half.
