Houston Rockets (231) vs. Toronto Raptors (2) Preview & Prediction (12/05/2019)

The Houston Rockets will be on the road Thursday taking the court against the Raptors at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The Rockets will be looking for their second win in three games following a controversial 135-133 overtime loss against the Spurs in San Antonio on Tuesday. The Raptors will also be looking to avoid back-to-back losses after losing 121-110 in overtime at home against the Miami Heat their last time on the court.

The Houston Rockets are now 13-7 on the year following Tuesday’s game in San Antonio. James Harden was able to connect on 11 of 38 from the field to lead the Rockets with 50 points. Russell Westbrook was able to pass the ball for a team-high 10 assists while Clint Capela pulled down 21 rebounds. Houston had six different players finish the game with a double-digit scoring night.

The Rockets have been good for an average of 120.9 points per game on the offensive end of the court while hitting 44.7 percent from the field. They have been able to pass the ball for an average of 21.7 assists per night while grabbing 48.0 rebounds. Defensively, they allow an average of 115.5 points per game to their opponents. Houston has been taking the ball away for 8.6 steals every time they are on the court to go along with 4.8 blocks. The NBA is still making a decision on rather Houston lost or not on Tuesday.

The Toronto Raptors are now 15-5 on the season following a 121-110 loss at home against the Miami Heat. Norman Powell was able to knock down 8 of 14 from the field to lead the Raptors with 23 points. Kyle Lowery was able to pass the ball for a team-high 11 assists while Pascal Siakam hauled in 12 rebounds. Toronto had six different players finish the game with at least 12 points.

The Raptors have been able to put the ball in the net for an average of 113.1 points per game this season while shooting 45.9 from the field. Toronto has passed the ball for an average of 25.8 assists per night with 46.2 rebounds. On the defensive end of the floor, Toronto gives up 105.0 points per night. The Raptors average 7.9 steals per game to go along with 5.1 blocks. They will be looking to avoid back-to-back losses.

The Raptors will take the court as a point and a half favorites on Thursday with the total sitting at 231.5 on the game. You may or may not like the Houston Rockets. I don’t like them at all, but they were given the short end of the stick on Tuesday in San Antonio. I feel sorry for Toronto. James Harden is going to have a heck of a game. My money is on Houston to cover this spread.

 NBA Stats and Trends:

  • Houston is 10-4 ATS in their previous 14 games.
  • Houston is 4-1 ATS in their previous five games vs. the Eastern Conference.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? (CFL, CFB,NBA and NFL)
C.O.W. = (Chances of Winning) – The ‘C.O.W.’ percentage is based on a teams win/lost record using their short and long-term win/lost record. After we process it through our ‘math predictor’, we then provide a ‘CHANCES OF WINNING’ percentage for their next game, which let’s you know if there’s any value on betting that team.

C.O.C. = (Chances of Covering) – The ‘C.O.C.’ percentage is based on a teams win/lost record from a ‘Point Spread’ perspective and not their ‘straight up’ (SU) record, using the teams short and long-term win/lost record. After we process it through our ‘math predictor’, we then provide a ‘CHANCES OF COVERING’ percentage for that team in their next game, which let’s you know if there’s any value on betting that team.

C.O.G.O. = (Chances Game Going OVER) – The ‘C.O.G.O.’ percentage is based on both teams OVER/UNDER record, using both teams short and long-term OVER/UNDER records. After we process it through our ‘math predictor’, we then provide a ‘CHANCES OF COVERING’ percentage for that game, which let’s you know if there’s any value on the OVER in that game.
*Note: If there’s a 60% chance of the game going OVER, that means, there’s a 40% chance of the game going UNDER.
MSV = (Market Spread Value) – The MSV is our researched and calculated line compared to the bookmaker’s line. When calculating the MSV, we look for the margin of error between the bookmaker’s line, the final result of a game and then produce the value of what the line should be in the next game for both teams.

VI = (Value Index) – The Value Index is the current psychology of the betting public, based on a teams 3-game cycle.

  • BULLISH = Team is either (3-0) in their last 3 games.
  • NEUTRAL = Team is either (1-2 or 2-1) in their last 3 games.
  • BEARISH = Team is either (0-3) in their last 3 games.

L.O.A. = (Law of Average) – The “Law of Average” edge is based on the 50/50 theory. Play on a team that lost against the spread (ATS) or straight up (SU) in their last game, vs. a team that won against the spread (ATS) or straight up (SU) in their last game.
