They might not be first in the Eastern Conference standings, but the Boston Celtics could be the East’s best team heading into the playoff stretch. They’ll get to prove themselves this Wednesday when they visit the Golden State Warriors. ESPN has the coverage beginning at 10 PM ET.

The Celtics finished the weekend with a record of 41-28 (35-33-1 ATS), good enough for fifth place in the East and an automatic berth in the playoffs if they started today. However, Boston’s +5.6 point differential is tops in the conference and a full point better than the East-leading Miami Heat, who are four games up on the C’s with less than a month to go in the regular season.
The Warriors (46-22 SU, 34-30-4 ATS) are even better than Boston at +6.5, but their fortunes have been up and down since Draymond Green was lost to a back injury. Green is expected to return Monday when the Dubs host the Washington Wizards; he’ll be on a minutes restriction in his first game back since January 5. Andre Iguodala (back) remains out indefinitely for Golden State, while Gary Payton II (knee) is still day-to-day.
