The Orlando Magic will be on the road Sunday taking the court against the Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. The Magic will be looking to end a three-game skid after losing 130-107 at home against the Houston Rockets on Friday. The Pelicans will look to snap a nasty streak of their own after losing 116-109 in Philadelphia against the 76ers their last time on the court.
The Orlando Magic will take the court in this one sitting at 11-14 on the season following a 130-107 loss at home against the Houston Rockets. Evan Fournier knocked down 10 of 18 from the field to lead the Magic with 27 points. Both D.J. Augustin and Markelle Fultz passed the ball for five assists while Aaron Gordon and Mo Bamba each grabbed six rebounds. The Magic had five different players finish the game with a double-digit scoring night.
The Magic have been good for an average of 102.5 points per game on the offensive end of the court while hitting 43.0 percent from the field. They have been able to pass the ball for an average of 22.4 assists per night while grabbing 45.0 rebounds. Defensively, they allow an average of 103.8 points per game to their opponents. New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans will tip this one off sitting at 6-20 following a 109-116 loss in Philadelphia against the 76ers. Brandon Ingram was able to connect on 10 of 17 from the field to lead the Pelicans with 32 points. Jrue Holiday was able to pass the ball for a team-high 10 assists while Derrick Favors pulled down eight rebounds. New Orleans had four different players with at least 10 points in the game.
The Pelicans have been able to put the ball in the net for an average of 112.6 points per game this season while shooting 44.8 from the field. New Orleans has passed the ball for an average of 24.7 assists per night with 44.2 rebounds. On the defensive end of the floor, New Orleans gives up 119.7 points per night. The Pelicans average 7.7 steals per game to go along with 4.7 blocks. They will be looking to avoid a 12th straight loss.
As of Saturday evening, both the spread and total were off for this game. I’m by no means a New Orleans fan, but I think they are a much better team than their record shows. They score around 10 more points per game than Orlando, shoot a higher percentage from the field, and pass for more assists. That being said, they also give up a ton of points to everyone they play against. But, the Magic aren’t exactly known as a powerhouse on the offensive side of the court. I like the Pelicans winning SU at home in this one.
