Portland Trailblazers (229) vs. Los Angeles Clippers (9.5) Preview & Prediction (12/03/2019)

The Portland Trailblazers will be on the road Tuesday taking the court against the Clippers at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Portland will be looking for a fourth consecutive win after beating the Chicago Bulls 107-103 in Portland on Friday. The Clippers will be looking for back-to-back wins following a 150-125 win at home against the Washington Wizards their last time on the court.

The Portland Trail Blazers are now 8-12 on the season following a 107-103 win at home against the Chicago Bulls. Damian Lillard was able to knock down 9 of 18 from the field to lead the Trail Blazers with 28 points while passing the ball for a team-high six assists. Hassan Whiteside pulled down 15 rebounds. Portland had four different players finish the game with a double-digit scoring night.

The Trail Blazers have been good for an average of 113.6 points per game on the offensive end of the court while hitting 45.1 percent from the field. They have been able to pass the ball for an average of 20.0 assists per night while grabbing 46.7 rebounds. Defensively, they allow an average of 114.7 points per game to their opponents. Portland has been taking the ball away for 5.9 steals every time they are on the court to go along with 6.0 blocks. They will be looking for a fourth consecutive win

The Los Angeles Clippers are now 15-6 following a 150-125 win at home against the Washington Wizards. Kawhi Leonard was able to drop 14 of 21 from the field to lead the Clippers with 34 points. Lou Williams was able to pass the ball for a team-high eight assists while Montrezl Harrell grabbed 15 rebounds. Los Angeles had four different players finish the game with at least 22 points.

The Clippers have been able to put the ball in the net for an average of 115.4 points per game this season while shooting 46.1 from the field. Los Angeles has passed the ball for an average of 23.4 assists per night with 49.0 rebounds. On the defensive end of the floor, L.A. gives up 108.3 points per night. The Clippers average 7.6 steals per game to go along with 5.6 blocks. They will be looking for back-to-back wins.

Los Angeles will take the court as nine-point favorites with the total sitting at 229 on the game. I like the total going over, here. I think Portland gives the Clippers more of a game than anyone is thinking and they’ll have to score a lot of points to do it. The Blazers have won three in a row and I don’t think they will get the win, but they are coming into this one with a ton of confidence. My money’s on the total going over 229 points.

The total has gone over in four of the Clippers’ previous six games.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? (CFL, CFB and NFL)
C.O.C. = (Chances of Covering) – The ‘C.O.C.’ percentage is based on a teams win/lost record from a ‘Point Spread’ perspective and not their ‘straight up’ (SU) record, using the teams short and long-term win/lost record. After we process it through our ‘math predictor’, we then provide a ‘CHANCES OF COVERING’ percentage for that team in their next game, which let’s you know if there’s any value on betting that team.
C.O.G.O. = (Chances Game Going OVER) – The ‘C.O.G.O.’ percentage is based on both teams OVER/UNDER record, using both teams short and long-term OVER/UNDER records. After we process it through our ‘math predictor’, we then provide a ‘CHANCES OF COVERING’ percentage for that game, which let’s you know if there’s any value on the OVER in that game.
*Note: If there’s a 60% chance of the game going OVER, that means, there’s a 40% chance of the game going UNDER.
MSV = (Market Spread Value) – The MSV is our researched and calculated line compared to the bookmaker’s line. When calculating the MSV, we look for the margin of error between the bookmaker’s line, the final result of a game and then produce the value of what the line should be in the next game for both teams.VI = (Value Index) – The Value Index is the current psychology of the betting public, based on a teams 3-game cycle.

  • BULLISH = Team is either (3-0) in their last 3 games.
  • NEUTRAL = Team is either (1-2 or 2-3) in their last 3 games.
  • BEARISH = Team is either (0-3) in their last 3 games.

L.O.A. = (Law of Average) – The “Law of Average” edge is based on the 50/50 theory. Play on a team that lost against the spread (ATS) or straight up (SU) in their last game, vs. a team that won against the spread (ATS) or straight up (SU) in their last game.
