Toronto Raptors (216) vs. Los Angeles Lakers (10) Preview & Prediction (11/10/2019)

The Toronto Raptors will be on the road Sunday taking the court against the Lakers at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Raptors will be looking for a third consecutive win after beating the Pelicans in New Orleans on Friday. The Lakers will look to keep the winning streak going following a 95-80 win at home against the Miami Heat their last time on the court.

The Toronto Raptors are now 6-2 on the season following a 122-104 win in New Orleans. Pascal Siakam was able to drop 17 of 28 from the field to lead the team with 44 points. Fred Vanvleet was able to pass the ball around for a team-high 11 assists while Siakam was able to snatch up 10 rebounds. Toronto had four different players with at least 12 points in the game.

The Raptors have been good for an average of 115.5 points per game on the offensive end of the court while hitting 46.3 percent from the field. They have been able to pass the ball for an average of 25.0 assists per night while grabbing 47.5 rebounds. Defensively, they allow an average of 108.1 points per game to their opponents. Toronto has been taking the ball away for 7.9 steals every time they are on the court to go along with 4.8 blocks. They will be looking for a third win in a row.

The Los Angeles Lakers have now won seven games in a row following a 95-80 win at home against the Miami Heat their last time on the court. Anthony Davis was able to hit 11 of 17 from the field to lead L.A. with 26 points to go along with a team-high seven assists while Javale McGee was able to grab 10 rebounds. Los Angeles had just two players in double digits scoring in the game.

The Lakers have been able to put the ball in the net for an average of 109.0 points per game this season while shooting 46.8 from the field. L.A. has passed the ball for an average of 24.4 assists per night with 46.0 rebounds. On the defensive end of the floor, Los Angeles gives up 98.5 points per night. The Lakers average 8.6 steals per game to go along with 8.0 blocks. They will be looking for an eighth consecutive win.

Los Angeles will take the court as nine and a half point favorites in the game with the total sitting at 215. I like Toronto covering the spread in this one. They not only are scoring an average of more points per night, but they are also a very solid team when it comes to passing the ball. As great as the Lakers are on the defensive side of the court, that’s not something they see on a regular basis. I’m putting a few dollars on the Raptors plus nine and a half.

Toronto is 13-5 ATS in their previous 18 games.

Toronto is 6-0 ATS in their previous six games against the Lakers.

Toronto is 6-2 ATS in their previous eight games on the road.

Toronto is 8-1 ATS in their previous nine games in L.A. against the Lakers.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? (CFL, CFB and NFL)
C.O.C. = (Chances of Covering) – The ‘C.O.C.’ percentage is based on a teams win/lost record from a ‘Point Spread’ perspective and not their ‘straight up’ (SU) record, using the teams short and long-term win/lost record. After we process it through our ‘math predictor’, we then provide a ‘CHANCES OF COVERING’ percentage for that team in their next game, which let’s you know if there’s any value on betting that team.
C.O.G.O. = (Chances Game Going OVER) – The ‘C.O.G.O.’ percentage is based on both teams OVER/UNDER record, using both teams short and long-term OVER/UNDER records. After we process it through our ‘math predictor’, we then provide a ‘CHANCES OF COVERING’ percentage for that game, which let’s you know if there’s any value on the OVER in that game.
*Note: If there’s a 60% chance of the game going OVER, that means, there’s a 40% chance of the game going UNDER.
MSV = (Market Spread Value) – The MSV is our researched and calculated line compared to the bookmaker’s line. When calculating the MSV, we look for the margin of error between the bookmaker’s line, the final result of a game and then produce the value of what the line should be in the next game for both teams.

VI = (Value Index) – The Value Index is the current psychology of the betting public, based on a teams 3-game cycle.

  • BULLISH = Team is either (3-0) in their last 3 games.
  • NEUTRAL = Team is either (1-2 or 2-3) in their last 3 games.
  • BEARISH = Team is either (0-3) in their last 3 games.

L.O.A. = (Law of Average) – The “Law of Average” edge is based on the 50/50 theory. Play on a team that lost against the spread (ATS) or straight up (SU) in their last game, vs. a team that won against the spread (ATS) or straight up (SU) in their last game.
