NFL Week 1 Recap and Betting Insights: What We Learned and How to Use It for Week 2

The first week of the NFL season brought plenty of excitement and some surprises, but most importantly, it gave us key insights for betting moving forward. Using our ATS STATS 80% Club and the results from Week 1, we can start building a strategy for Week 2. Let’s take a look at the highlights, trends, and how the numbers played out.

Game 1: New York Jets vs. San Francisco 49ers

• Result: 49ers 32, Jets 19
• Spread: 49ers (-3.5) ✅
• Total: Over 41.5 (53 points) ✅
• Key Insight: The Niners continued to assert their dominance, and this game sailed over the total, backing up the 80% Club trend that the Over is a great play when the Jets are coming off an AFC matchup.

Game 2: Carolina Panthers vs. New Orleans Saints

• Result: Saints 47, Panthers 10
• Spread: Saints (-3.5) ✅
• Total: Over 41.5 (57 points) ✅
• Key Insight: The Saints crushed the Panthers, and the Over hit easily, continuing a pattern where the Panthers struggle to stop high-powered offenses early in the season.

Game 3: Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts

• Result: Colts 29, Texans 27
• Spread: Colts (-3) ❌
• Total: Over 46.5 (56 points) ✅
• Key Insight: Even though the Colts won outright, they failed to cover the spread, while the Over cashed comfortably. Week 1 division matchups can often turn into shootouts, and this was no exception.

Game 4: Arizona Cardinals vs. Buffalo Bills

• Key Insight: The Vikings dominated as expected and the game easily went Under. When the Vikings are favorites, their defense often shows up, making them an excellent bet to cover.

Game 6: New England Patriots vs. Cincinnati Bengals

• Key Insight: This low-scoring affair followed the trend of the Bengals struggling to hit the Over against strong defenses. Betting the Under in games involving the Patriots’ methodical offense might continue to be profitable.

Game 7: Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Miami Dolphins

• Key Insight: The Bears took care of business, but the total barely missed the Over. The Titans’ offense needs to be watched, as they tend to underperform on the road early in the season.

Game 10: Las Vegas Raiders vs. Los Angeles Chargers

• Result: Chargers 22, Raiders 10
• Spread: Chargers (-1.5) ✅
• Total: Under 40.5 (32 points) ✅
• Key Insight: Both the spread and Under cashed easily. This game followed the 80% Club trend of the Chargers dominating in low-scoring affairs when at home.

Game 11: Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks

• Key Insight: The Seahawks came through as expected, and the Over hit in what turned into a higher-scoring game than anticipated.

Game 12: Washington Commanders vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

• Key Insight: The Buccaneers blew the Commanders out, and the Over hit easily, showcasing their offensive firepower early in the season.

• Key Insight: The Chiefs, following the 80% Club trends, managed to cover the spread and hit the Over. They are a solid bet when at home after a win.

Final Thoughts:
Week 1 gave us a great start with many trends holding strong, especially with teams like the Chargers, Saints, and Chiefs. As we move into Week 2, expect more data to fine-tune our bets and continue cashing in on those 80% Club stats.
