The New York Giants will be on the road Monday night taking on the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The Giants are in desperate need of a win after losing 31-13 at home against the Green Bay Packers last week. The Eagles are also hurting for a win following a 37-31 loss to the Dolphins in Miami their last time on the field.
The New York Giants are now 2-10 on the year following a 31-13 loss at home against the Green Bay Packers. Daniel Jones was able to connect on 20 of 37 passes for 240 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions.
Sequon Barkley was able to run the ball for 83 yards on 19 carries while Kaden Smith hauled in 70 receiving yards on six receptions.
New York has struggled to put points on the board this season, averaging just 19.2 points a week. They are moving the ball for an average of 339.7 yards per game, 244.2 through the air and 95.5 and a half on the ground.
Defensively, the Giants are giving up 28.3 points per game. They have allowed opponents to gain an average of 387.3 total yards, 273.0 passing, and 114.3 rushing.
The Philadelphia Eagles are now 5-7 following a 31-37 loss to the Dolphins in Miami. Carson Wentz was able to connect on 28 of 46 passes for 310 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.
Miles Sanders was the Eagles’ leading rusher with 83 yards on 17 carries while Alshon Jeffery had 137 receiving yards and a touchdown on nine receptions.
Philadelphia has been able to score an average of 22.8 points per week this season. They are moving the ball for an average of 357.4 total yards a week, 238.7 through the air and 118.8 on the ground.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Eagles are giving up an average of 23.7 points a game. They allow opponents to gain 349.8 total yards, 258.8 passing, and 91.0 rushing
The Eagles will take the field as 10 point favorites with the total sitting at 45.5 on the game. Here’s the thing. As rough as the year has gone for Philadelphia, they’re not out of the playoff picture because of how weak their division is. They still have two games remaining this year against the Cowboys. A win here would be huge.
On top of that, Eli Manning will be the starting quarterback for New York on Monday night. As good of a quarterback as he has been in the past, this will be his first game starting in a while. I don’t see the Giants having the offensive rhythm they will need to win on the road. I don’t even think they can cover the spread. My money’s on the Eagles minus 10.
Giants vs. Eagles Trends
