On Sunday, February 13, Super Bowl LVI takes place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, and will feature a most unexpected matchup: the LA Rams and Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams are 4-point “road” favourites, with the total pegged at 48.5 at press. NBC has the coverage, which begins at 6:30 PM ET.

The Bengals got to this point by beating the Vegas Raiders at Paul Brown Stadium during the wild card weekend, followed by a 19-16 road victory against the Tennessee Titans as 4-point underdogs. Few people gave the Bengals a chance against QB Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs (-7) in the Conference Championships, but they managed a comeback after being down 21-10 at half time and the game finished with a 24-24 tie that led to overtime. With Mahomes winning the coin flip, many thought that the game would end there, but the Bengals got possession and set up the necessary 42-yard field goal to win the game.

The Rams’ journey to Super Bowl LVI involved a wild card win against the Arizona Cardinals, a Divisional win against the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and a Conference Championship victory against the San Francisco 49ers. Despite technically being the “road” team at the Super Bowl LVI, they’ll have the advantage of playing in the familiar confines of SoFi Stadium.
