The Toronto Blue Jays will play the second game of a three-game set this Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. At press, the Rays sit just three games behind the New York Yankees for first place in the AL East and they’ll attempt to inch closer with a victory over the struggling Jays. Toronto has dropped two straight series and seven of their last 10 games. Tampa Bay, meanwhile, are coming off of a series victory against the Cleveland Indians. Every win is important for Tampa right now, as the surging Yankees have taken over first place in the division and are working to widen the gap.

The Jays will send 35-year-old lefty Clayton Richard to the mound on Tuesday, which will be the second start of the year for the veteran. His first was a four-inning outing against the Boston Red Sox, where he allowed just two hits and one earned run in his return from injury.
Ryan Yarbrough is penciled in to start for the Rays. A recent callup from Tampa’s farm team, Yarbrough pitched 7.1 innings in his last outing and earned the victory over the Cleveland Indians. Yarbrough will look to build off of his last start and solidify his spot on the Rays’ rotation going forward. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM ET.
