MLB Odds: Blue Jays and Red Sox Meet for Final Time this Season

The MLB’s regular season is coming to a close in mere weeks, and the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox will play each other for the last time in 2019 this Thursday. At press, the Red Sox sit nine games out of the final Wild Card spot in the American League, and as a result, it appears as though their season will come to an end this month. It’s been a tough August and September for Boston, who are 3-7 in their last 10 games. As a result, we may begin to see some of the Sox’ younger players enter games, beginning in the series finale against the Blue Jays.

On Thursday, the Blue Jays will send former Red Sox pitcher, Clay Buchholz to the mound. Buchholz has pitched well since returning to the Jays from an injury spell; he’s pitched at least six innings in two of his three starts and has surrendered seven runs over that period, winning one game and losing two.

The Red Sox will counter with one of the more dominant openers in the league in Jhoulys Chacin. The righty hasn’t allowed a hit over his previous two outings, and has tallied four strikeouts in three innings pitched in those games, which were both against the AL-leading New York Yankees. Watch him face off against the Jays on Thursday, beginning at 7:07 PM ET.
