NBA Odds: Golden State Warriors vs. Portland Trail Blazers, Game 3

We might be getting a sneak preview of what the Golden State Warriors will look like next year. With Stephen Curry taking over the reins from the injured Kevin Durant, the Warriors have already taken a 1-0 lead on the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Finals. Game 3 will be this Saturday at 9 PM ET on ESPN.

Durant has been ruled out for Thursday’s Game 2 (also at 9 PM ET on ESPN), according to reports, but his services weren’t required in Tuesday’s opener. Curry scored 36 points, making nine of his 15 3-point attempts as the Warriors (–7 at home) prevailed 116-94. It was a throwback to Golden State’s pre-Durant champions from four years ago – and a possible sign of things to come, if KD does indeed leave the Dubs in free agency.

Odds for Game 2 are pending at press time, but the Trail Blazers were relatively healthy coming out of Game 1, and they might have some sneaky value after hitting just seven of their 28 trey attempts while committing 21 turnovers. Those are the kind of high-variance stats that the Warriors can’t rely on as the series continues.
