EVENT: 2026 NFL Draft – Round 1
ANALYSIS BY: Ron Raymond, ATS Stats Founder
The 2026 NFL Draft is officially on the clock. We are three days away from the chaos in Pittsburgh, and if you’ve been following the Raymond Report, you know we don’t play guessing games: we play the numbers. This is where “Wall Street meets Vegas.” We are looking for the VPP (Value and Percentage Play) across the board.
In this opening volume of our draft series, we are dissecting the AFC East. This division is in a state of flux. You have a dynasty in New England trying to find its defensive identity, a Bills team desperate for a true WR1, a Dolphins squad hunting for “pillars,” and a Jets franchise that might finally be ready to pull the trigger on a generational reset at quarterback.
Before we hit the team needs, we have to address the elephant in the room: Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza. The market has effectively closed the book on the No. 1 overall pick.
| PLAYER | SCHOOL | ODDS |
|---|---|---|
| Fernando Mendoza | Indiana | -21236 |
| Rueben Bain | Miami | +9936 |
| Ty Simpson | Alabama | +8319 |
| Arvell Reese | Ohio State | +14612 |
RAYMOND REPORT INSIGHT:
At -21236, Mendoza’s C.O.W. (Chance of Winning) is effectively 99.9%. In a clinical, data-first environment, this is a “non-betting” event for retail users, but it sets the entire board for the AFC East. If Mendoza is the lock for the Raiders at #1, the draft truly “starts” at #2 with the New York Jets.
Current Draft Slots: #2 (or #3 pending final tie-breakers)
Primary Needs: QB, WR, EDGE
The Situation: The Geno Smith era provided a bridge, but the numbers show the Jets are “miles behind” the division leaders. With six new defensive starters added in the offseason, the focus shifts to the offensive engine.
| PLAYER | ODDS |
|---|---|
| Arvell Reese | -287 |
| David Bailey | +186 |
| Sonny Styles | +6013 |
| Ty Simpson | +5541 |
BULLISH INDICATOR: If the Jets decide that Geno can hold the fort for one more year, Arvell Reese (Edge, Ohio State) is the high-probability play. Reese is being compared to Micah Parsons in league circles. However, the rumor mill in New York is screaming “rebuild.” If they don’t trade out, Reese is the clinical choice to anchor that revamped defense.
Current Draft Slots: #26
Primary Needs: WR1, Secondary Depth
The Situation: Since Stefon Diggs left, the Bills have lacked that “take the top off” threat. While they have seven picks, the first round must be spent on a primary target for Josh Allen.
| PLAYER | ODDS |
|---|---|
| Carnell Tate | -275 |
| Jordyn Tyson | +155 |
| Makai Lemon | +1546 |
VPP ANALYSIS: Carnell Tate is the heavy favorite to be the first wideout off the board. For the Bills at #26, they might have to move up if they want Tate. If they stay put, they are looking at the 2nd or 3rd tier of WRs. Historically, the Bills under Brandon Beane aren’t afraid to be aggressive.
Check the latest NFL betting stats to see how WR-dependent teams performed ATS last season. Buffalo struggled to cover late in the year when their receiving corps was decimated by injuries.
Current Draft Slots: #11, #30
Primary Needs: Franchise Pillars, DL, WR
The Situation: Jeff Hafley’s squad has 11 total picks in this draft. They are looking for “Force Multipliers.”
| PLAYER | 11TH PICK ODDS |
|---|---|
| Mansoor Delane (CB) | +470 |
| Spencer Fano (OL) | +521 |
| Makai Lemon (WR) | +548 |
BEARISH ON DEFENSE? While the Dolphins need a “pillar,” the board at #11 suggests a heavy lean toward Mansoor Delane (-1081 to be 1st CB selected). Miami’s secondary needs a lockdown presence to compete with the high-flying passing attacks in the AFC.
Current Draft Slots: Mid-Round 1
Primary Needs: OL, DL, WR1
The Situation: The Patriots’ identity remains the defensive front. After losing Chaisson in free agency, the DL needs a massive infusion of talent.
| PLAYER | ODDS |
|---|---|
| Francis Mauigoa | -268 |
| Spencer Fano | +211 |
| Kadyn Proctor | +1267 |
ANALYTICAL SNAPSHOT: New England is in a “Two-Team Race” for the division title with Buffalo. To win that race, they need to stabilize the offensive line. Francis Mauigoa is the top-rated OL prospect. If he’s there, the Patriots take him. It’s a low-variance, high-floor move: exactly what the Raymond Report likes to see for long-term SU (Straight Up) success.
While the NFL teams are making their picks, you can own the process. The Artificial Intelligence Picks League (AIPL) is our premier “Wall Street meets Vegas” franchise model.
Owning an AIPL franchise means transparency. Every pick is tracked in real-time. Whether you are betting the NFL Draft or the upcoming MLB slate, the AIPL platform gives you the hybrid edge of human intuition and machine precision.
Based on current market liquidity and historical draft patterns, here are our Top 5 high-confidence options for the 2026 NFL Draft.
| RANK | MARKET | SELECTION | ODDS | VPP GRADE |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1st Overall Pick | Fernando Mendoza | -21236 | A+ (Lock) |
| 2 | 1st Cornerback | Mansoor Delane | -1081 | A (High C.O.W.) |
| 3 | 1st Wide Receiver | Carnell Tate | -275 | B+ (Value) |
| 4 | 2nd Overall Pick | Arvell Reese | -287 | B (Positional Need) |
| 5 | 1st Offensive Line | Francis Mauigoa | -268 | B+ (Fundamental) |
The AFC East is currently a tale of two tiers. Buffalo and New England are the established “BULLISH” entities, while Miami and the Jets remain “NEUTRAL” to “BEARISH” until they prove they can solve their respective holes at WR and QB.
If you’re looking for a long-shot value play, keep an eye on Jordyn Tyson (+155) to leapfrog Carnell Tate for the first WR selected. If a team like Miami or New York falls in love with his speed during the final 72 hours, that +155 offers significant ROI compared to the chalk.
